Lighting Science Definity PAR16 Spec Sheet
Description:

Useful for accent or task lighting, our energy efficient PAR LED bulbs (PAR is short for parabolized aluminum reflector) make great replacements for your hot-running halogen incandescent bulbs. They can be used indoors or outdoors in applications such as downlights (commonly referred to as ceiling can lights) or home security lighting.

How to tell the size of the PAR LED bulb you want to replace: The number following the PAR designation relates to the bulbs diameter in an unusual way. It represents the number of eights of an inch (1/8) that compromise the diameter of the bulb. For instance, a PAR38 LED bulb measures 4.75 inches in diameter (38/8 = 4.75). Or a PAR16 LED bulb measures 2 inches in diameter (16/8 = 2). This is a useful tip when the bulb you are trying to replace doesnt have markings indicating what size of PAR bulb it is.

5 Star Rating A good little bulb

I bought this bulb to replace a halogen in a curio cabinet. I specifically noticed that it is shorter than most PAR16 bulbs and therefore a better fit in this application. For recessed ceiling or track lighting it may be too short and hard to install or have some of the beam cut off by the fixture. For cabinet lighting it is perfect.

5 Star Rating ahhhh

I've been waiting for a good par 16 LED. These are just what I wanted. I'm replacing 60 watt halogen, so I was a bit skeptical about the "30W equivalent"—but I find that for my situation they are plenty of light, even preferable. The fewer lumens makes the house cozier, drops out the sense of it being over-bright, and gives me plenty of what I need. Now I can have nine bulbs lit for the cost of powering one of the old bulbs. So I turn a few more on. I love the soft light. Beautiful.

5 Star Rating Could work in some applications

Too dim and too cool compared to the halogen bulbs they replaced. I tried three in a track light fixture and found them to be a poor replacement. They are now sitting on a shelf and I'm back to halogen. Would recommend the 2700k over the "Neutral White," which seemed way too cool to me.
