When we ordered three of these bulbs for our kitchen, Polar-Ray only had two in stock so they called to ask if we wanted to wait for all three to ship them or if we wanted a partial shipment. We really appreciated the call and went ahead to get the first two bulbs right away. When we received them we were delighted! They are a nice bright white, but they're not so white as some of the other bulbs out there. We definitely recommend these bulbs and working with Polar-Ray!

The bulb shines a bright, pure light, which I like but startles some guests when they are in my basement, especially if the dimmer is in the full on position. The dimming feature works well (unlike dimming fluorescents). The only very minor drawback is a delay of just under a second before the light comes on; when it does come on, it's full power, so again it beats the compact fluorescents.

The build quality of the bulb is excellent. The shape of the bulb comes past the ring which allows a greater angle of light. The light comes on after two seconds at full brightness. The color is natural light and the light is bright (not yellow or bluish).
