Cree CR Series LED Troffers
Posted by Polar-Ray on 6/23/2011 to LED Lighting

The all new Cree CR Series LED architectural troffers are an exceptional and unrivaled fluorescent troffer replacement designed for commercial lighting applications. Let's begin with some basics: The series includes the CR24 (2'x4'), CR22 (2'x2'), and CR14 (1'x4') models in numerous light output and color temperature options in order to accommodate a wide range of applications. Each troffer offers a sleek look with an innovative external heat sink running cleanly down the center of the fixture. A one piece reflector merges seamlessly with the light mixing chamber, where a soft but brilliant light glows from an upward facing linear LED array. A minimum 50,000 hour lifetime with no troublesome ballast, relamping or labor costs reduces the time and money spent maintaining the fixtures to zero. An advanced LED driver enables step dimming to 50% (a 0-10V dimming option is expected later this year) while maintaining an exceptional efficacy of 90-110 lumens per watt (LPW)! Cree TrueWhite technology produces a consistent color temperature, a CRI of 90 and no annoying flickering... very impressive.

Availability for the different Cree CR models varies, with most of the CR24 series products available now and the CR14 products slated for mid-July. At this time it looks like the CR22 products will be ready for delivery in early September. Here at Polar-Ray.com we plan on carrying a small inventory of the CR24 series for immediate delivery, think sample orders and small jobs, as well as offering the entire Cree CR line-up for special order with relatively short lead times and highly competitive pricing. Just what the pricing will be set at is yet to be determined, but it should allow for a relatively short return on investment when comparing costs and energy savings to high end fluorescent troffers.
